Krossover is a NYC-based sports technology company that has one goal in mind: disrupt the current sports content, analytics and technology landscape. It’s a lofty goal, but in the meantime, we have developed a great business breaking down game film for coaches at all levels.
Krossover began as a project in 2008 to help the University of Pennsylvania’s basketball team make use of advanced statistics in order to win more games. By 2010, it was clear that sports analytics was becoming a hot topic amongst both professional and amateur teams around the world. While most solutions were being built with the big budgets in mind, Krossover embarked upon an adventure to disrupt the sports world from the grassroots level up to the pros. With an incredibly talented and diverse team of technologists, designers and number crunchers, we set out to build a powerful product that could truly make a difference in the lives of our users.
A couple of years later, Krossover is emerging as the backbone for the sports media and technology ecosystem. Our servers store tens of thousands of games every season. We track millions of data points across thousands of teams and players, which powers hundreds of advanced metrics and visualizations. Perhaps most importantly, we have the capability to syndicate that content to local and national media outlets through game recaps, box scores and highlight reels, all delivered automatically every night.
We are part of the new and burgeoning NYC Tech community with an office in Midtown Manhattan. If we’re not working on a new feature, we’re probably in the middle of a hackathon. And if we’re not doing either of those things, our team can be found shooting hoops, skating on a hockey rink, or dreaming of the day that cricket will be played on the streets of New York.
