OpenStudy:免費開放式課程學習平臺是一家允許使用者免費建立學習小組的網站，OpenStudy也是一家社交學習網站，由喬治亞理工學院和埃默裡大學創立，網站可以讓使用者協同工作，並回答對方各自的問題。

OpenStudy公司目前有來自世界 170 個國家，1600所學校的100,000名學生使用者。因為Open Study所有的計算能力，電子儲存，安全備份，以及相關的通訊設施都可以從一個遠端的服務提供商中打包購買，所以運作一家這樣的創業公司，實際所需的物理設施就只是5臺MacBook Air，把符合人體工程學設計的黑色椅子，一張桌子，以及一個夠快的 wi-fi 而已。

據OpenStudy的執行長菲爾·希爾的說法:“我們的目標是將更多的社交學習體驗注入開放式課程，確保學習者不會孤單。看到這麼多來自世界各地的人一起學習只是偉大的第一步。”卡森則表示全球因素很重要，並指出參與者發現幾乎每時每刻學習小組中都有人線上。

麻省理工學院和OpenStudy又增加了更多學習小組。現在已經有十門課有學習小組，僅僅就在兩個禮拜內，已經有幾百名學生註冊加入。

OpenStudy is a for profit business funded by the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and the Georgia Research Alliance. We’re located at Georgia Tech’s ATDC Center in Technology Square, Midtown Atlanta.
